Wholesale and retail operating revenues rise 3.2% in the second quarter

The General Authority for Statistics bulletin issued on August 30, 2026, showed that the wholesale and retail trade operating revenue index rose 3.2% in the second quarter compared with the same period in 2025. In contrast, the index fell 0.6% compared with the first quarter of 2026.
Growth in online sales
The online sales index rose 9.8% year on year. Retail activity recorded growth of 13.4%, wholesale 6.5%, and motor vehicle sales and repair 2.4%.
